Kanae Kocho is one of Hashira's flower breathing techniques, and she is the older sister of Shinobu Kocho and is the adopted sister of Kanao Tsuyuri. Several years into her time as Hashira, Kanae then met and fought against the second-ranked moon demon Doma. In that fight, Kanae was injured so badly that Doma almost ate him. But as the sun began to rise, Doma then left them. In the end, Shinobu finds the dying Kanae, and before she dies, Kanae tells Shinobu all the information she knows about Doma.
